Settle this debate?

Context. I’m playing a match with Anthoyn (he is playing Rick Grimes), and he gets hooked by the killer (dickslinger). The way his power works is that he’s got a gun that shoots a hook and a chin that reels you in, then strikes. You can kind of see it in action at the 0:35 second mark. Okay, this is where the debate starts. Ant gets hit and runs down the steps towards the exit gates to escape, and I’m trying to block the next attack (because I am healthy and can take a hit). Why does this man proceed to bop and weave to avoid the killer’s attack as if I’m not there, which gives said killer a line of sight to hit him. Ant argues that I should have looked behind me and seen the killer angle so I could take a hit for him. I argue that looking back wouldn’t allow me to cover him. It just doesn’t make sense. Anyways, I die alongside him for shits and giggles. The end lol.
