Irony & Coincidence - Sept 3, 2013
Tell me stranger, you lack courtesy wields me towards hindsight
I could not tell colors from beyond these blinds, blind
Capture my attention in the blessings and wisdom offered
Often called religion I know direction has more than four names
Not just a compass but a philosophy of life and happiness
Please, place your cation away and fall backwards into the endless
Strike up and hail the liberty of designed choice
With desired outcomes and perceptual consequences
Atlas I can only demonstrate from the contours of my muse
Hold your own, pump oxygen in and expel the virtues of sanity
Writing is hard, its easy to ‘feel’ but to place those feelings into words is not always as simple as you’d think. I’ve always loved the abstract, so when it came time for me to express my thoughts and feelings I too choose something abstract. I decided to grab words more for their impact than there concrete meanings. I literally threw grammar out the window, probably both in metaphor and actual throwing lol.
To summarize, I felt religion preplanned peoples decision and wanted to inspire critical thinking that stepped away from the teachings of whatever said religion was. Kind of this, ‘use your head’ approach rather than, ‘follow your teachings’ mindset. Honestly, it’s really weird to read the things I’ve written from over a decade ago lol.
